A plan appears to be missing

  1. 1

    Check Recent Plans

Open the Load flow and look for a recent local version.

  2. 2

    Use the original browser

Autosave is stored on the device and browser where the plan was created.

  3. 3

    Open a backup

Load the editable PNG you downloaded when saving, or reopen the cloud share link.

  4. 4

    Avoid clearing site data

Clearing browser storage can remove local autosaves and recent versions.

A download does not start

  • Allow downloads for freeroomplanner.com in the browser address-bar permissions.
  • Press the manual Download button shown in the Save window.
  • On mobile, check the browser's Downloads or Files location rather than the photo library.
  • Keep the page open until a 3D photo finishes rendering.

Drawing or moving feels unexpected

  • Press Escape to cancel the current tool, then choose Select and Move.
  • Check whether snapping is on. Hold Alt or disable it temporarily for free movement.
  • Zoom in before selecting small walls, openings or overlapping items.
  • Detach a connected wall before trying to move it independently.
  • On touch devices, use the Pan tool for reliable one-finger canvas movement.

3D does not look as expected

  • Make sure the walls form a usable room and check wall lengths for accidental tiny segments.
  • Return to 2D and confirm that items are inside the correct room.
  • Some library items use a simplified 3D representation while retaining their plan dimensions.
  • Try reloading the page after saving a backup if the renderer stops responding.

Questions about this guide

Common questions

How do I recover a missing or replaced plan?

Check Recent Plans in the Load flow, then try the original browser, editable PNG backup or cloud link. Local recovery cannot survive if the browser's site data has been cleared.

Read Save, share and recover plans
What should I do if the backup download is blocked?

Use the manual Download button in the Save window and allow downloads for freeroomplanner.com in your browser permissions.

How do I stop walls or furniture snapping?

Turn Snap off from the toolbar, or hold Alt while dragging to override it for one move. With Snap off, walls, room corners and items go exactly where you let go and the corner readout shows the true angle. Turn it back on for clean wall joins, true 90° corners and tidy alignment.

What should I check if 3D does not open?

Check for a valid enclosed room, accidental tiny wall segments and objects outside the room. Save a backup and reload the page if the renderer has stopped responding.
